Carleton University in Ottawa (Political Science, Economics). Many years as translator/revisor (German-English / English-German) for the Translation Bureau of the Canadian federal government in Ottawa (Secretary of State). Two extended periods as exchange translator with the German federal government's language service (Bundessprachenamt) in Hürth near Cologne. Early retirement from the public service followed by freelance work (translation, revision, linguistic consultation). Activity as journalist (syndicated columnist) and author of 13 books (10 in English, 2 in German, 1 in French). Translation coordinator for the 1988 Calgary Olympics. Official translator for the 1990 Open Skies Conference in Ottawa where the 4+1 formula for Germany's reunification was developed. Many years as translator for the Canadian Department of Justice (War Crimes Commission), for EDC (Export Development Corporation, Ottawa), for numerous government and private clients, publishing companies, law firms, translation agencies, etc.  in many countries – including Canada, USA, UK, Australia, Israel, Canary Islands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland.
